Day 1: Thursday, October 17 – Santa Cruz – San Francisco Airport
We leave from the Museum of Art and History in Santa Cruz this afternoon at 1:30pm and travel via our chartered motor coach to the San Francisco Airport where we will board our non-stop Aer Lingus flight to Dublin, and after changing planes there we continue on to Glasgow.
Day 2: Friday, October 18 – Arrive Glasgow
We arrive in Glasgow at 2:30pm local time this afternoon. After clearing passport control and customs we will be met by our Scottish tour guide and begin our tour of central Glasgow. We’ll visit the red sandstone Victorian buildings, delightful parks, Glasgow Cathedral and the River Cylde, once famous for shipbuilding. We’ll also stop at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum to have a look at the varied art collections. After check in at our hotel, we will gather for a welcome drink.

Day 3: Saturday, October 19 – Loch Lomond & Inveraray Castle
Today we embark on a short cruise on Loch Lomond to appreciate the beauty of this famous loch and admire the panoramic views. We’ll have time to browse around the town of Inveraray before taking a guided tour of Inverary Castle, featured in the “Downton Abbey” series. We’ll journey across Rannoch Moor and through Glencoe, often considered one of Scotland’s most spectacular and beautiful places.

Day 4: Sunday, October 20 – Road to the Isles & Isles of the Skye
Take the “Road to the Isles” through some of Scotland’s loveliest scenery, stopping for photos at the Glenfinnan Monument. Enjoy a panoramic tour of the isle of Skye and visit the picturesque Eilean Donan Castle. Make sure you keep your camera handy as we travel the shores of Loch Ness on our way to Nairn. You never know when the Loch Ness Monster will appear.

Day 5: Monday, October 21 – Culloden Battlefield & Sheepdog Trials
A short distance from Nairn is the Culloden Battlefield Visitor Centre where the British Government forces defeated the army of Prince Charles Edward Stuart, popularly named Bonnie Prince Charlie. We’ll be able to walk around the moorland and visitor center before continuing on through majestic Highland scenery to a local farm for a demonstration of trained dogs herding sheep. We’ll travel through the high peaks of Grampian Mountains to our gracious manor-style hotel near Pitlochry.

Day 6: Tuesday, October 22 – Blair Castle & Whiskey Tasting
Today we visit Blair Castle, home to the Dukes of Earls of Atholl. We’ll delve into the history of Mary, Queens of Scots, Bonnie Prince Charlie, and how Queen Victoria’s famous stay led to the creation of Europe’s only private army, the Atholl Highlanders, We’ll go behind the scenes at Blair Atholl Distillery for a tour and sample the finished product. We’ll spend the afternoon at leisure exploring the gardens, hotel museum or browsing around Pitlochry.

Day 7: Wednesday, October 23 – Glamis Castle & St. Andrews
Today we travel through the lush countryside to visit Glamis Castle, the legendary setting of “Macbeth” and the childhood home of the late Queen Mother. This majestic building is filled with priceless artifacts and furnishings. We then head to St. Andrews, the “Home of Golf”, to see the famous Royal and Ancient Clubhouse and Old Course. We have some free time to browse through the medieval town.
Tonight in Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital, we get to enjoy a traditional Scottish evening with dinner, haggis, bagpipes, kilts and Highland dancing!

Day 8: Thursday, October 24 – Edinburgh Castle & City Tour
We’ll explore Edinburgh to compare and contrast the wide streets and elegant mansions of the Georgian 200-year-old “New Town” with the narrow lanes and medieval townhouses along Royal Mile, the oldest part of the city. We’ll tour the imposing Edinburgh Castle with it’s splendid views of Edinburgh.

Day 9: Friday, October 25 – Edinburgh – San Francisco
Alas, our journey comes to an end today. After breakfast we depart for the airport to board our Aer Lingus flight via Dublin to San Francisco arriving at 3:35pm. Our chartered motor coach will be waiting to carry is back to the Museum of Art and History.

Price is per person, based on double occupancy including roundtrip airfare from San Francisco. Terms and conditions apply and are available for inspection at Pacific Harbor Travel. Taxes and fuel surcharges are set by the airlines and local jurisdictions and are subject to change prior to departure.
Transfers between Santa Cruz and the airport (at scheduled times) and to all listed lodging and attractions, airfare to and from listed destinations, listed lodging, designated meals and listed attractions including guide services are included. Other expenditures are the responsibility of the traveler. Hotels are subject to change, but will be equivalent to those mentioned in the itinerary.
Important Reservation Information:
Travel Protection Plan
Although our quotation does not include the cost of a Travel Protection Plan, we strongly recommend clients purchase this protection. If passengers would like to purchase the Travel Insured Protection Plan, there will be an additional cost of $242.00 per person payable with the deposit. If you are traveling as a single, the cost will be $363.00
Passports and Visas
It is the responsibility of each tour participant to obtain a valid passport. Your passport must be valid for the period of your intended stay in Scotland. If you are holding a passport issued by a country other than the United States, it is your responsibility to check with the consulate of Scotland for entry requirements. No visa is required for United States citizens.
Payment Schedule
At the time of booking a $500.00 non-refundable deposit plus the Travel Protection Plan (if selected) is required for each participant. The final payment is due by August 09, 2019.
Cancellation Penalties
Cancellations received prior to August 09, 2019 – $500.00 per person + Travel Protection Plan. Cancellations received August 09, 2019 and later – non-refundable. We strongly recommend our Travel Insured Protection Plan.
Change Fees
Pacific Harbor Travel reserves the right to charge a $100.00 per person change fee should any component of the tour be voluntarily changed inside of 90 days prior to departure. Voluntary changes are not permitted within 14 days prior to group departure. Once airline tickets have been issued, the tour participant is responsible for any airline imposed amendment fees for voluntary changes. Dependent on the airline, these fees can be $200.00 per person and higher, and tickets may, at times, be fully non-refundable.
